2021: Two Anti-Poverty Poetry Jams

To mark the United Nations International Day to End Poverty, ATD Fourth World and On Road Media hosted two poetry jams. The first, on Thursday, 14 October, with support from the London Challenge Poverty Week, was an in-person event in a community centre in Hackney Wick. Then on Sunday, 17 October, we ran an online event with participants from the Poverty Truth Community, the APLE Collective, and a poet youth laureate in California.
Below are videos of the original poems written by Ruth Knibbs, Patricia Bailey, and Alison Barnfather. We will be adding video clips of many more of these very talented poets in the coming months.

Also for the UN day, ATD Ireland published a book of poetry called Lockdown Liberties. The online version of the book can be accessed here. The video below presents the project.
