Giving Poverty a Voice: Learning Together, Participation, and Policy
ATD Fourth World’s Giving Poverty a Voice programme supports people experiencing poverty and inequality to engage and participate in their communities and have their say on decisions that affect their lives.
Using issue-based discussion forums, capacity-building workshops, and examinations of avenues to participate in the democratic process, Giving Poverty a Voice empowers and encourages people to stand up and be heard.
The programme also builds networks with grass roots and community organisations across the UK to strengthen links between diverse experiences and perceptions of poverty as well as planning meetings with local and regional policy and decision makers.
Currently the key project of this programme focuses on poverty, social work, and the right to family life.
