From food to housing to work, from heath care to social security, everyday rights underpin our lives. This is the focus of the UK Economic, Social and Cultural Rights Network, of which ATD Fourth World is one of 190 members. Convened by Just Fair UK, this network allows organisations and individuals to connect, collaborate and drive change.

On 3 November 2025, Tammy Mayes and Diana Skelton from ATD joined six others from the network to go to the Ministry of Justice for a meeting with the Deputy Minister, Rights and Public Law.

In addition to Tammy and Diana from ATD, the delegation heading to the Ministry of Justice included the Equality Network (Scotland), and Friends, Families and Travellers.

The purpose of the meeting was to follow up on evidence given earlier this year to the United Nations about the UK’s lack of compliance with the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights. In addition to evidence for the UN from ATD Fourth World and its Youth Voices project, ATD also contributed to evidence from GRIPP, the Growing Rights Instead of Poverty Partnership, as shown in this series of three videos, “From our communities to the UN”:
