‘Understanding Poverty’: Spreading the Word
Following the 14 October 2019 launch of ATD Fourth World’s research on ‘Understanding Poverty in All Its Forms’, many people and organisations have published articles about it or promoted the research on social media. For instance:
- “Understanding Poverty and Social Work” by BASW, the professional association for social work and social workers;
- “Nothing About Us, Without Us, Is Really For Us” in the Global Policy Journal;
- “Understand Poverty by Talking to All of the Experts” on the Child Poverty Action Group website;
- “Prioritising Participatory Poverty Projects Properly” in the London School of Economics International Social and Public Policy Publications;
- Project Twist-It created a page featuring four ATD Fourth World activists including co-researcher Thomas Mayes explaining the six dimensions of poverty;
- The blog ‘UK Poverty: What’s the Problem?’ featured an article by co-researcher Amanda Button about how she experienced collaborating with academics;
- ‘Understanding Poverty and Social Rights Through Lived Experience’ on Amnesty International UK Blogs;
- ‘Human Rights Should Be a Tool of Peace for Everyone‘ on the Asia and Pacific Policy Society Forum;
- Equally Ours promoted the report on its website;
- and “The Case for Caring” on Sophia Parker’s blog.
